
For the second consecutive year, the Danville Admiral Marching Band advanced to the KMEA State Marching Band Championship Finals at Western Kentucky University on Saturday October 29, 2011. Earlier in the day, the band performed their show, "AREA 51", at Greenwood High School and placed 4th out of 16 bands in the KMEA Class AA Semi-Finals advancing them to the finals that evening. In their finals performance, the band received a distinguished rating for their performance earning them 2nd place in the state for Class AA which makes this their highest ranking achievement in the history of the KMEA State Marching Band Championship.
